What?

We would like to honor Penna’s 29 years as Director of Chapel Music with an engraved stone in one of the aisles of the Princeton Chapel. Penna has always said that we leave our voices in the stones of the chapel, so this seems like a particularly symbolic way to commemorate the impact she has had on all of our lives and on the Chapel itself.

How?

We are reaching out to alumni for donations. The stone will cost $10,000. The Class of 2014 has collectively pledged $1500 to get us started. You can contribute through Venmo (@Chapel-Choir, XXX-XXX-8713) or Paypal (pucchoir@gmail.com) to dedicated accounts set up for this purpose. If these options don’t work for you, please reach out to Gita Gnanadesikan ‘14 at gita@alumni.princeton.edu to coordinate (e.g. mailing of checks, international transfers). Thank you in advance!

When?

Fundraising will occur over the next few months. Progress updates will be posted here. We hope to have an in-person celebration and unveiling at a future date, perhaps at Reunions 2022.

Progress…

As of 12/1/21, we have raised all $10,000. Thank you all so much for your generosity!!! Gita is communicating with the Office of the Recording Secretary to move forward with the engraving process.
