The Chapel Choir presents a concert for the season of Advent, featuring J. S. Bach’s cantata “Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland” and the world premiere of The Princeton Motets (And I Saw), a collaboration between poet Euan Tait and composer Shawn Kirchner, written especially for the Chapel Choir. University Chapel Choir alumni gather for a musical reunion, performing favorite choral works from across the generations.
This concert features two works with visions of Paradise: the world premiere of The Princeton Motets: And I Saw, with music by Shawn Kirchner and poetry by Euan Tait, based on Revelation 21, and Maurice Duruflé's beloved Requiem.
The Chapel Choir and orchestra celebrate the patron saint of music and musicians, Cecilia, whose feast day is November 22. Featured composers include Henry Purcell and Gerald Finzi.
Join current members of the Chapel Choir for a reception and group sing. You'll discover why people love singing in this amazing ensemble (and, incidentally, what a crumpet is). Enter the rear doors from the McCosh Courtyard and follow signs to the chapel basement. (It's fine to arrive late or leave early if you need to.)

The Princeton Girlchoir joins the Chapel Choir for a performance of Andrea Clearfield’s astonishing cantata on Tibetan texts, Tse Go La: At the Threshold of This Life. J. S. Bach’s cantata O Jesu Christ, meins Lebens Licht rounds out this program of birth, death, and what lies between.
The Chapel Choir will collaborate with the Orange County Women’s Chorus, Laguna Hills, CA, in a performance of works for combined treble and mixed choirs.
The Chapel Choir will take a whirlwind musical and historical pilgrimage through Germany, beginning with J. S. Bach’s early life and ending with the fall of the Berlin Wall. While there, we will learn from and perform with a choir from the University of Potsdam.
Join us for a community sing-along of this magnificent classic with student and alumni soloists, University Organist Eric Plutz, and instrumental ensemble. Bring your own score or borrow one at the door. $5 general admission/free for students.

The Chapel Choir presents works based on and inspired by the Great “O” Antiphons, used at Vespers in the last seven days before Christmas. The ancient text, which calls upon Christ using images from scripture, is the basis of the beloved Advent hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.” The program will feature music of Felix Mendelssohn, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Melissa Dunphy, and more.
The film stars Lon Chaney, and will be accompanied by live organ music performed by Michael Britt. Link will be posted closer to the event.

Ruth Cunningham is a founding member of the world renowned vocal ensemble Anonymous 4 and a sound healing practitioner. She specializes in early music and improvisational sacred music from varied spiritual traditions both in concert and liturgical settings. She works with individuals and teaches workshops on using the voice and music as a tools for healing.
